The subconscious mechanism by which the body is able to regulate posture and movement is called proprioception.

What is Proprioception?

This is also referred to as kinaesthesia or the sixth sense of individuals as result of its importance in the body system. It comprises of receptors which are known as proprioreceptors and mechanoreceptors which are present in the muscles, joints etc.

The mechanism is a subconscious one in which they assist in the body being able to regulate posture and movement through the receptors present in the skeletal and muscular system which is therefore why it was chosen as the correct choice.
