It benefits their intellectual flexibility when children occupy cognitive flexibility.

What Is Cognitive Flexibility ?

Children that exhibit the aforementioned issues struggle with cognitive flexibility. The capacity to modify our behavior and thoughts in reaction to the environment is known as cognitive flexibility. Children need to show flexible thinking when they are asked to consider several ideas at once or alter their method of approaching a problem. Executive functioning is thought to be fundamentally dependent on cognitive flexibility. The mental processes that allow us to organize, concentrate, recall information, and manage several tasks at once are referred to as executive functioning. Executive functioning issues are frequently present in children who have learning disabilities or attention deficit disorders.

There are two main ways that cognitive flexibility happens:

 • the capacity to think about several things at once
 • the capacity to adapt one's thoughts in response to shifting demands or expectations
