If you are alerted that a tsunami is approaching, your first reaction should be to immediately head for a location as high above sea level as possible.

A sequence of massive ocean waves known as a tsunami can be brought on by earthquakes, underwater landslides, volcanic eruptions, or asteroids. As the waves come in and go out, a tsunami can kill, hurt, or destroy people as well as harm or destroy structures and infrastructure. If an earthquake is strong enough to induce sudden and significant displacement of a significant amount of water, along with severe movement of the ground, it will result in a tsunami.

It's crucial that you comprehend natural signals because there might not always be enough time for an official warning. A tsunami may occur if you are near the shore and experience a large or prolonged earthquake, notice a dramatic rise or decrease in the ocean, or hear a loud roar from the water. This is a warning to you. Move to a safe place and take action. Waiting for official orders is not advisable.
