The best way to solve this problem is with a simple equation: part = percent (in decimal form) x whole

In this problem, we're trying to solve for the whole amount that the camera can hold, so we'll assign that the variable w.

We can use the information they gave us - 96 is the part, and 24% is the percent. We'll convert that to decimal form - 0.24

Then, we just plug these values back into the above equation:

96 = 0.24w

Divide both sides by 0.24 to get w on it's own, and you have your answer!

400 = w

Therefore, the memory card can hold up to 400 pictures.

Note: this equation is super helpful. It's good to have on hand for any problem involving percents, because you can solve for the part, percent, or whole depending on the problem.

At a Noodles & Company restaurant, the probability that a customer will order a nonalcoholic beverage is .42. Find the proba
pashok25 [27]

Answer:

0.497

Step-by-step explanation:

Using the binomial probability formula :

P(x =x) = nCx * p^x * (1 - p)^(n - x)

From the question :

n = 6 ; x = 3 ; p = 0.42

P(x = 3) +... P(x = 6)

P(x = 3) = 6C3 * 0.42^3 * (1 - 0.42)^(6-3)

P(x = 3) = 20 * 0.074088 * 0.195112

P(x = 3) = 0.28910915712

Then find p(x = 4).. + p(x = 6)

Using a calculator :

P(X >= x) = 0.497

The weather forecast says there’s 70% probability of rain tomorrow. What are the odds against rain
krok68 [10]

Answer:

30%

Step-by-step explanation:

Key skills needed: Probability

1) There is a 70% chance of rain.

2) We need to find the chances against rain.

3) To do this, we need to use the fact that

70% + x = 100% (Since all the probabilities add up to 1 or 100%)

4) If you subtract 70% from both sides, x = 30%

5) This means the probability against rain is 30%.
