Late deceleration is the gradual decrease in the fetal heart rate generally followed by uterine contractions. It is usually caused by uteroplacental insufficiency. ● Introduction of artificial oxygen to the mother
If the above interventions do not work, the last alternative to deal with this condition is through performing a C-section. Once the baby is out of the body, the deoxygenated baby can be supplied with natural or artificial oxygen outside the mother's body.
