The time taken is 0.42 seconds

What is the time taken?

We know that we can be able to find the time taken by the use of the equations of motion. The equations of motion can be obtained using the rules of kinematics.

Now we can say that;

speed = distance /time

speed = 164.4 km/hr

distance = 19.3 m

To convert 164.4 km/hr to m/s;

164.4 km/hr * 1000/3600

= 45.7 m/s

Then;

time = distance/speed

time = 19.3 m/45.7 m/s

= 0.42 seconds

It takes 0.42 s for ball take to reach home plate 19.3 m away

What is Speed ?

Speed is the distance travelled by a body per time taken. It is a scalar quantity. The S.I unit is meter per second. That is, m/s

Given that Boston Red Sox pitcher Roger Clemens could routinely throw a fastball at a horizontal speed of 164.4 km/hr. How long did the ball take to reach home plate 19.3 m away?

Since the ball is thrown horizontally, The speed = distance ÷ time

First convert the speed in Km/h to m/s by dividing 164.4 by 3.6

Speed = 164.4 ÷ 3.6

Speed = 45.67 m/s

Substitute all the parameters

45.67 = 19.3 / t

Make time the subject of formula

t = 19.3 / 45.67

t = 0.42 seconds

Therefore, it takes 0.42 s for ball take to reach home plate 19.3 m away

Hari drag a load of 60 kg along a distance of 12 metre what amount of work does he do also mention the type of work
Vlada [557]

Answer:

W = 7056 J

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass of a load, m = 60 kg

Distance moved, d = 12 m

We need to find the amount of work. The work done by an object is given by :

W = Fd

So,

W = mg×d

W = 60 kg × 9.8 m/s²×12 m

W = 7056 J

So, the amount of work done is 7056 J.

A 1 kg object sits on the earth’s surface. What is the force of gravity between the object and the earth? (mass of the earth = 5
snow_lady [41]

Answer:

9.81N

Explanation:

the force of attraction is given by

F=GmM/R²

where m is mass of the body

M is mass of the earth

R is radius of the earth

G is the universal gravitational constant(6.67x10-¹¹)

hence we substitute the values in the formula.

If a negatively charged rod is held near a neutral metal ball, the ball is attracted to the rod. This happens:_______
qaws [65]

Answer:

c. because the rod polarizes the metal.

Explanation:

Bringing the negatively charged rod close to the neutral metal ball causes the neutral metal ball to be polarized with induced positive charge on it. The polarizing of the formally neutral metal ball is due to the negative charge on the metal rod (bodies induce a charge opposite of their own charge on a nearby neutral body). The ball and rod then attract themselves because bodies with opposite charges attract each other, unlike bodies with same charges that repel each other.
