Growth is referred to as the increase in mass and size of a body or organs which typically occurs through the multiplication of cells and an increase in intracellular substance.

From the observation made about the object we cannot consider it to be a life form because the object is yet to display growth in mass. The object must grow in order to be considered living.

In conclusion, the object was able to reproduce itself displaying a characteristic of a life form.
