The temperature if the volume were changed to 225 ml at a pressure of 785 torrs is 129K.

Pressure is constant.

so

V1 /  T1 = v2 / T2

so

T2 = V2 T1 / V1

T2 =  225 x 242 / 422

T2 =  129K

What is temperature?

Temperature is a measure of hotness or coldness expressed on several scales, including Fahrenheit and Celsius. Temperature indicates the direction in which thermal energy spontaneously flows - ie, from a hotter body (one at a higher temperature) to a colder body (another at a lower temperature).

The Fahrenheit temperature scale (°F) is used in the United States and some other English-speaking countries. The Celsius temperature scale (°C) is standard in almost all countries that have adopted the metric system and  is widely used in science. The Kelvin (K) scale, the absolute temperature scale is recognized as the international standard for scientific temperature measurement.

Complete the mechanism for the acid-catalyzed hydrolysis of the epoxide in alcohol by adding any missing atoms, bonds, charges,
Sauron [17]

Answer:

See explanation below

Explanation:

You are missing the structure, therefore, I will do an example with one that I found on another place to try to explain.

This acid mechanism always involves carbocations, and positive charges, never negative because we are in acidic mediums.

In the first step, the lone pairs of the oxigen from the epoxide, substract one hydrogen of the reactant.

Second step, the lone pairs of the oxygen from the reactant, do a nucleophylic attack to the carbon of the epoxide. In this case, it will do it to the most substitued carbon.

Then, in the third step by acid base equilibrium, the hydrogen from the reactant that attacked, is substracted from the molecule by a molecule of water (We are in acid medium, therefore, there is traces of water) and the final structure is formed.

A molecule of ethyl alcohol is converted to acetaldehyde in one’s body by zero order kinetics. If the concentration of alcohol i
Oliga [24]

Answer:

(1) 0.0016 mol/L

Explanation:

Let the concentration of alcohol after 3.5 hours be y M

The reaction follows a first-order

Rate = ky^0 = change in concentration/time

k = 6.4×10^-5 mol/L.min

Initial concentration = 0.015 M

Concentration after 3.5 hours = y M

Time = 3.5 hours = 3.5×60 = 210 min

6.4×10^-5y^0 = 0.015-y/210

y^0 = 1

0.015-y = 6.4×10^-5 × 210

0.015-y = 0.01344

y = 0.015 - 0.01344 = 0.00156 = 0.0016 mol/L (to 4 decimal places)

Lostsunrise [7]

Answer:

a. participate in proton transfer - His

b. acts as a nucleophile - Ser

Explanation:

Enzymes are regulated because they are proteins. They are categorize based on how they catalyze. Heat weakens and inactivates the enzymes because of non covalent interaction. His amino acid participate in proton transfer because it is able to act as an acid as well as a base while Ser amino acid can act as nucleophile.

A balloon filled with helium has a volume of 6.3 L. What is the mass, in grams, of helium in the balloon?
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

The mass of helium in the balloon is 1.125 grams

Explanation:

Step 1: Data given

Volume of helium = 6.3 L

Molar mass of helium = 4.0 g/mol

Step 2: Calculate moles helium

1 mol gas = 22.4 L

6.3 L = 0.28125 moles

Step 3: Calculate mass of helium

Mass = moles helium * molar mass helium

Mass = 0.28125 * 4.0 g/mol

Mass = 1.125 grams

The mass of helium in the balloon is 1.125 grams
