The movement of a variety of people and ideas across the Atlantic contributed to the development of American culture through the Transatlantic slave trade.

This movement between the three continents of America, Africa and Europe led to the development of a shared labor Market and the intertwining of different cultures.

To this end, there was the availability of cheap slave labor in America because African slaves were exchanged for Rum. This was also an advantage to slave owners because slaves cheap, dependable and easy to control.

Over time, this led to the increase in the population of African Americans and this further resulted in segregation. through this process, mercantilism was enforced by the British on American Colonies.
