Let's first find the slope of the line:

m=\frac{-2-1}{-2-1}=\frac{-3}{-3}=1

then the equation in slope-point form wil be:

y-1=x-1

then

y=x

is the slope-intercept form of the line equation.

IN WORDS EXPLAIN THE PROCESS TO SOLVE THIS SYSTEM OF LINEAR EQUATIONS BY ELIMINATION.
Vilka [71]

Answer: (-2,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

-3x + 4y = 18

6x + 2y= -6        we have to eliminate one of the variables so you will have ot

2(-3x + 4y) = 18(2)     multiply the first equation by 2.

-6x + 8y = 36

6x +  2y = -6       now we could eliminate the x terms by adding them and

0  +   10y= 30   remember that is a new equation.

       y=  3

Now we know that the y solution is 3 so we will put it into one of the equations and solve for x.

-6x + 8(3)=36

-6x + 24

-24   -24

-6x =  12

x= -2

Find an equation of the line that satisfies the given conditions.
8090 [49]

Answer:

x=8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The equation of the given line is y=9

A point on the unknown line is (8, 5).

The unknown line is perpendicular to the line y=9.

A line of the form y=a where 'a' is a constant is a line parallel to the x axis. The line has a constant value for 'y' irrespective of the value of 'x'. The slope of such lines are equal to 0. So, slope of the known line is 0.

Now, when two lines are perpendicular, the product of their slopes is -1.

Let the slope of the unknown line be 'm', then:

m\times 0 =-1\\m=-\frac{-1}{0}= undefined.

Therefore, the slope of the unknown line is undefined. A line parallel to y axis has undefined slope. So, the equation of the unknown line is of the form:

x=b where, 'b' is a constant and is equal to the abscissa (x value) of the line.

As per question, (8, 5) lies on this line. Therefore, the value of 'x' is 8.

So, the equation of the unknown line is x=8

Suppose you rolled the 6-sided number cube 120 times, how many times would you expect to roll a 6? Explain.
shusha [124]
Hello!

First you have to find the probability of rolling a 6 one time

There is one 6 and 6 total number

That is a probability of 1/6

Multiply this by the amount of times you roll the cube

1/6 * 120 = 20

The answer is 20

Hope this helps!
