How is the adjective and adverb used here? 'She walked slowly to it; to the elongated, black, metal gate.'

English

Answer: The adverb slowly describes the verb walked. It basically says HOW the person walks (like did they walk fast, slow, at an average pace, etc., and in this case, it says that they walked in a slow manner).

Edit: so I’m assuming effect is like the mood of the story created, and I’d say that it creates a somber, suspenseful feeling, opposed to if she was walking quickly, which would create a rushed mood.

Select the best evidence to support the statement ""Rocky river bottoms are vital to the Eastern hellbenders’ lifecycle."" there
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer: "This nocturnal amphibian often hides under the same rock for its entire adult life span-up to thirty years-emerging at night to feed largely on crayfish."

Explanation:

Rocky River bottoms at North Carolina Pisgah National Forest are where Eastern Hellbenders seem to blending into.

They could be right underneath swimmers who would never know that they are there meaning that the swimmers could inadvertently destroy or cause damage to the habitat of the Eastern Hellbenders.

These habitats are very important to the Eastern Hellbender because as the text states, they could hide under the same rock for their entire lifespan which is on average 30 years. Those rocky bottoms are therefore very important to it's lifecycle.

What's ironic about the fact that Nick is forming a relationship with Miss<br> Baker?
Lelechka [254]

Answer: Hey! This information might help you. Have a fantastic day! <3

Explanation: He tells Nick that, "Miss Baker's a great sportswoman, you know, and she's never do anything that wasn't all right"(ch. 4) in an effort to build up her image for Nick. This is an ironic remark because Jordan herself admits to Nick her occasional lack of honesty.
