in order for 2 lines to be parallel both lines must have the same slopem in this case

\frac{1}{2}\ne2

the lines are not parallel.

when 2 lines are perpendicular the product between the slopes of the lines must be equal to -1

\begin{gathered} (\frac{1}{2})\cdot(2)=1 \\ 1\ne-1 \end{gathered}

in this case the lines are neither parallel nor perpendicular.

PERPENDICULAR

NOT PERPENDICULAR

For 40points. Find the volume?
joja [24]

Hey!

------------------------------------------------

We can split this polygon into two rectangular prisms.

Finding the volume is: base * length * height.

~Let's solve for the first prism

5 * 2 * 2 = 20cm³.

~Let's solve for the second prism

8 * 2 * 2 = 32cm³.

~Add both volumes

32 + 20 = 52cm³.

------------------------------------------------

Hence, the volume is 52cm³.

------------------------------------------------

Hope This Helped! Good Luck!

PLEASE HELP 35 points <br> What is the value of Y <br> What is the value of x
Svetlanka [38]

Answer:

\sin(58°)  =  \frac{12}{y}  \\ y =  \frac{12}{ \sin(58°) }  \\ y =  \frac{12}{0.85}  \\  \boxed{y = 14.15(approx)}

\tan(58°)  =  \frac{12}{x}  \\ x =  \frac{12}{ \tan(58°) }  \\ x =  \frac{12}{1.6}  \\  \boxed{x = 7.5(approx)}
