The sexual transmission of Chancroid is one of its characteristics.

The main method of transmission for patients in the United States is sexual contact, and the identification of chancroid ulcers in babies and children, particularly in the genital and otherwise perineal area, is incredibly suspect of sexual abuse.

The bacteria Haemophilus ducreyi causes chancroid, which causes painful, superficial sores and frequently also causes regional lymphadenopathy. Chancroid is a common condition that can spread HIV and is seen in Asia, Africa, as well as the Caribbean. The chancroid-caused vaginal ulcer is painful, sensitive, and uninsured.

3 - 7 days after the infection, symptoms appear. Small, uncomfortable blisters that develop around the anus or on the genitalia quickly burst into ragged-edged, shallow, open sores.
