The survival of plants in terrestrial environment has been made possible by the presence of conductive tissue.

Conducting tissues are vascular tissues that conduct water and nutrients throughout the plant. Plants have two conducting tissues:

  • Xylem: It transports water and minerals from the roots to the leaves. In non-woody terrestrial plants, the xylem can be found vascular bundles and in of woody plants it is found in the vascular cambium
  • Phloem: It conducts photosynthesized glucose and other metabolic products from the leaves to other parts of the plant.

Hence conductive tissues enable plants survive in terrestrial environment because it helps to transport water from the soil to the leaves for photosynthesis and transport the products of photosynthesis throughout the plant.

A patient's HDL, LDL, and triglyceride levels are 62, 77, and 60, respectively. What is the patient's total cholesterol score? S
Len [333]

Answer:

Total cholesterol score is 199

199 is high cholesterol score especially as it very close to 200. The patient should adopt diets that do not include high cholesterol food

Explanation:

a. Firstly, we want to calculate the patient’s total cholesterol score.

To get this, we use a mathematical approach.

Mathematically;

the total cholesterol score = HDL + TDL + Triglyceride = 62 + 77 + 60 = 199

The patient’s total cholesterol score is 199

b. As a doctor, I will advice the patient on the status of these measurements. Using the scale of cholesterol level, a measurement of total cholesterol = 200 represents a high cholesterol level. Since 199 is very close to 200, the patient is at a risk of high cholesterol levels and thus needs a dietary change.

explains respiration including the reactants and the products, its purpose and the organelle it occurs in.
ziro4ka [17]
Respiration is the transformation of glucose to ATP, which is energy that the body can use.
Respiration consists of several steps: glycolysis, TCA/Krebs/Citric acid sycle and at last the oxidative phosphorylation.
The molecules needed for this to happen is water, oxygen (O2), NADH, ATP and glucose.

Which would least likely be a cause of natural selection?
AnnZ [28]
Evolution would least likely be a cause of natural selection.
Natural selection has to do with the survival of the fittest. Therefore, adaptation, variation, and overpopulation all have an impact on natural selection - those who do not adapt to their new surroundings due to overpopulation or those whose bodies have not modified enough will not survive.

Fittoniya [83]
The man with blood type A might have one of two genotypes:
1. Iᵃ Iᵃ
2. Iᵃ i
In this case, Iᵃ is an allele for A group, and i is an allele for 0 group.
The ABO blood type is controlled by a single gene (the ABO gene) with three types of alleles (Iᵃ Iᵇ and i)
