Balancing Chemical Equations:

The concept of the balancing equation is a manifestation of the Law of Conservation of Matter which states that matter cannot be created nor destroyed. Hence, for any chemical reaction, the atoms initially present should also be found on the products. The number of each kind of atom in a chemical compound is indicated as subscripts. If the subscripts are outside of parentheses, then the numerical value should be multiplied by all the subscripts inside the parentheses. If the number of atoms is still unbalanced, numerical coefficients are multiplied for each of the atoms or compounds in the reaction equation. Another variable that should be balanced is the net charges of the product and reactant sides.
