Thalamus brain structure relays information from the eyes to the visual cortex.

Thalamus- A tiny part of the brain, the thalamus is connected to both the cerebral cortex as well as the midbrain by a large number of nerve fibers. It is situated between them slightly above the brain stem.

Cerebral cortex- The outer layer of neuronal tissue that makes up the cerebrum of a brain in mammals and humans is called the cerebral cortex. Only 10% of the cerebral cortex is made up of allocortex, which is a six-layered structure.

Mid Brain- The uppermost portion of the brainstem, which serves as the spinal cord's connecting point with the brain, is known as the midbrain.
