The given compound is 3,3-dimethylbutane .

The given name is wrong according to the IUPAC nomenclature because the numbering of carbon atom in a ring should start from the carbon atom which is bonded to the functional group to give least numbering to the functional group .

Here in this case , there is only 4 carbon in the main chain . due to which the number only can assign to the functional group is 1 and 2 . no other possibilities available . and also the functional group should be least numbered .

Hence , the correct name is 2,2-dimethylbutane .
