History

Explanation:

The Continental Congress adopted the Articles of Confederation, the first constitution of the United States, on November 15, 1777, but the states did not ratify them until March 1, 1781. The Articles created a loose confederation of sovereign states and a weak central government, leaving most of the power with the state governments. Once peace removed the rationale of wartime necessity the weaknesses of the 1777 Articles of Confederation became increasingly apparent. Divisions among the states and even local rebellions threatened to destroy the fruits of the Revolution. Nationalists, led by James Madison, George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Wilson, almost immediately began working toward strengthening the federal government. They turned a series of regional commercial conferences into a national constitutional convention at Philadelphia in 1787. This constitutional convention laid the foundation for what would later be established as THE U.S. CONSTITUTION OF WE THE PEOPLE.

The modern world believes in scientific facts and reasoning.  In the past, people just believed if something bad happened, it was due to the punishment they were receiving from God. Instead of looking for solution or understanding nature, they just cursed themselves and prayed for miracles.

Artyom0805 [142]

The excerpt above is an example of an effective introduction. An introduction is effective because it provides a brief background of the essay’s subject.

EXPLANATION

The excerpt above is an example of an introduction to an essay. In that introduction, it is stated that the subject will be Mary Kay Ash who wanted to write a book about women in business. Later, the introduction tells the story and the background of Mary Kay Ash. The reader will know who Mary is from the definition “people like Mary Kay Ash have the opportunity to make their own economic decisions and create their own influential businesses.” This sentence is a background of Mary Kay Ash which gives enough information about Mary to the reader.

Due to the introduction is at the beginning of an essay, it should provide the background or at least important information about the subject. The introduction is the opening of an essay where the reader will choose to continue the reading or not. If an introduction is difficult to understand and it doesn’t contain important and straight point, it will make the readers quit their readings.

In short, if we want to write an essay or research, state the point in the introduction. Give brief and clear information in the introduction, including the background of the subject or the background of the study. Make it interesting and engaging so that the readers will continue reading our works.
