Sugar Act, Stamp Act, Quartering Act The acts listed above contributed to the start of the Revolutionary War by ignoring colonist who believed their civil liberties.

What is the American revolutionary war?

Tensions between citizens of Great Britain's 13 North American colonies and the colonial government, which served as the representative of the British crown, grew over time, leading to the Revolutionary War (1775–83), also known as the American Revolution.

Beginning with skirmishes between British troops and colonial militiamen in Lexington and Concord in April 1775, the insurgents were waging a full-scale war for their independence by the following summer.

In 1778, France joined the American Revolution on the side of the colonists, effectively turning a domestic conflict into a global one.

Though fighting wouldn't officially end until 1783, the Americans had effectively won their independence after French assistance helped the Continental Army force the British surrender at Yorktown, Virginia, in 1781.

What strategies did slaves employ to resist, revolt, and sustain their own independent communities and cultures? how did slaves
astra-53 [7]
The major ways in which slaves resisted were through rebellions and their own forms of violence. In addition, they were able to run away from the plantation, which was fraught with its own set of risks. Third, they could take smaller forms of resistance, such as breaking the tools the owner had, which would slow down the overall process of working. Women were able to do this more easily, since they were not expected to work as hard as the males and could feign illness or some other way to slow down their overall rate of work.
