NaCl or Sodium Chloride is an ionic compound. This is because an ionic compound pertains to a compound that consists of positively and negatively charged ions. In this case, Na (Sodium) has a tendency to lose one electron when it reacts with with other atoms, so the resulting sodium ion contains 11 protons and 10 electrons, thus making it positively charged (Na+), When Chlorine reacts, it usually gains one electron to form an ion called chloride, thus making it negatively charged (Cl-). Since the ions are oppositely charged, they attract.

What effect will the destruction of myelin have on signaling capability of a neuron? Why does this occur?
grandymaker [24]

Destruction of myelin will affect the nerve and there will be the less conduction of electrical impulses from the brain to other parts of the body and the nerve signal sent to the brain are delayed. These damaged nerve areas form sclerosis which disrupts the signalling capacity of the nerve. This may occur due to genetic defects, infectious agents, auto immune reactions and trauma.

The parental phenotype is the mother's free earlobes (Ff) and the father's nonfree earlobes (ff).

What genotype and phenotype?

The genotype refers to the information present in an individual's genome. Unlike the phenotype, it is not observable and rarely changes. The phenotype, in turn, depends on a combination between our genotype and the environment and can be defined as the observable characteristics of an individual.

With this information, we can conclude that the parental phenotype is the mother's free earlobes (Ff) and the father's nonfree earlobes (ff).
