A particular virus strain is highly effective in activating an immune response. in other words it has a high degree of immunogenicity .

Immunogenicity tells about the capability of a molecules to induce cellular and humoral immune response. Immunogenicity of any  antigen is defined  by four properties these are Foreignness, molecular size, chemical composition and heterogenicity .

Proteins and few polysaccharides have immunogenic properties, that allows them to induce humoral immune responses They are chemically more complex also bacteria , have so many different proteins and each different protein have different epitopes.
