Solve the system, or show that it has no solution. (If there is no solution, enter NO SOLUTION. If there are an infinite number

of solutions, enter the general solution in terms of x, where x is any real number.) 6x + 4y = 169x + 6y = 24

Given:

The equation is

\begin{gathered} 6x+4y=16 \\  \\ 9x+6y=24 \end{gathered}

Find-:

The solution of the equation

Explanation-:

The first equation is

\begin{gathered} 6x+4y=16 \\  \\ 2(3x+2y)=16 \\  \\ 3x+2y=\frac{16}{2} \\  \\ 3x+2y=8 \end{gathered}

The second equation is

\begin{gathered} 9x+6y=24 \\  \\ 3(3x+2y)=24 \\  \\ 3x+2y=\frac{24}{3} \\  \\ 3x+2y=8 \\  \end{gathered}

Both equations are the same.

For slove, the two unknown variables need two equations.

So,

There is NO SOLUTION

Answer:

The volume of the observatory is 497.43 feet^{3}

Step-by-step explanation:

i) The diameter of the floor is 10 feet. The floor is circular and has a radius,

    r =  \frac{10}{2} = 5 feet.

   Therefore the area of the circular floor of the observatory

     = \pi r^{2}      =   3.14159 × 5^{2}    =    78.54 feet^{2}

ii) The observatory is made up of two parts

  a)  3 foot tall cylinder

      ∴ volume of cylinder = \pi r^{2}   × h

                                         = 78.54 × 3

                                         = 235.62 feet^{3}

   b)  hemisphere = \frac{1}{2} × \frac{4}{3} \pi r^{3} = 0.6667 × 78.54 × 5   =  261.81 feet^{3}

    c) Therefore the total volume of the observatory is = a) + b)

         = 235.62 + 261.81 =   497.43 feet^{3}

Answer:

The probability that you would choose a green candy: \frac{45}{139} or approximately 32%.

Step-by-step explanation:

The general form of probability can be calculated as the following fraction:

\frac{number of desired outcomes}{total number of outcomes}

First, to find the total number of outcomes, you need to add all of the candies together:  42 + 45 + 20 + 32 = 139, so there are 139 total outcomes.  Since there are a total of 45 green candies, the probability of choosing green from the total can be written as:

\frac{45}{139}

Dividing the numerator by the denominator and multiplying by 100 gives us the percentage of approximately 32%.
