It is true that Enterprise risk management is a valuable approach that can better align security functions with the business mission while offering opportunities to lower costs.

What is Risk Management?

In order to limit, monitor, and control the likelihood or impact of unfortunate events or to maximize the realization of possibilities, risk management entails the identification, appraisal, and prioritization of risks (defined by ISO 31000 as the influence of uncertainty on objectives).

Instability in global markets, threats from project failures (at any stage of design, development, production, or maintenance of life cycles), legal liabilities, credit risk, accidents, natural causes and disasters, deliberate attack from an adversary, or events with uncertain or unpredictable root causes are just a few examples of the many different types of risks that can arise.

A retired woman has $180,000 to invest. she has chosen one relatively safe investment fund that has an annual yield of 9% and an
Zepler [3.9K]
Solution:
Let the amount invested in scheme which yields 9% be x and amount invested in scheme which yields 13% be y.
x + y = 180000 --equation 1
0.09x + 0.13y = 18000 --equation 2
Balancing the equations, multiply equation 1 with 0.09 and equation 2 with 1,
0.09x + 0.09y = 16200 -equation 3
0.09x + 0.13y = 18000 --equation4
Subtracting equation 4 from 3,
-0.04y = -1800
y = 45000
Now putting value of y in equation 1,
x + 45000 = 180000
x = 135000
The amount to be invested in scheme which yields 9% = $135,000
The amount to be invested in scheme which yields 13% = $45,000

Answer:

(a) If the amount in Supplies Expense is the January 31 adjusting entry, and $850 of supplies was purchased in January, what was the balance in Supplies on January 1?

 • supply balance January 31 + supplies expense - purchases = $700 + $950 - $850 = $800

(b) If the amount in Insurance Expense is the January 31 adjusting entry, and the original insurance premium was for one year, what was the total premium and when was the policy purchased?

 • Insurance expense per month = $400 x 12 months = $4,800, beginning balance prepaid insurance January 1 = $2,800. This means that the insurance policy was purchased ($4,800 - $2,800) / $400 = 5 months before, this means it was purchased in August, 2016.

(c) If $2,500 of salaries was paid in January, what was the balance in Salaries and Wages Payable on December 31, 2016?

 • wages payable on December 31, 2016 = salaries expenses + wages payable balance January 31, - paid salaries = $1,800 + $800 - $2,500 = $100

(d) If $1,600 was received in January for services performed in January, what was the balance in Unearned Service Revenue at December 31, 2016?

 • unearned service revenue on December 31, 2016 = cash received for providing services - service revenue + unearned service revenue balance January 31 = $1,600 - $2,000 + $750 = $350

Which type of credit is most likely to be unsecured?
joja [24]

The correct answer is B and D.

B. Credit cards.

D. Personal loans.

Unsecured loans are not backed by collateral. Based on the financial history is how the lender decides if someone qualifies for a loan.

If someone defaults on unsecured loan then the lender can not take your property automatically.

Example of unsecured loans include, student loan, personal loan, and credit cards.

The unsecured loan is not good because the APR is higher than the secured one reason being there is no assets which underlines for the creditor to stop if someone does not pay.

erik [133]

Answer:

$0.12 billion; a budget surplus

Explanation:

Given that,

Total spending for the last fiscal year = $4.71 billion

Tax collected during the same fiscal year = $4.83 billion

Government transfers = $0

Lilliput's budget balance:

= (Taxes - Government transfers) - Total spending of government

= ($4.83 billion - $0) - $4.71 billion

= $0.12 billion

Therefore, the Lilliput has a budget surplus during the last fiscal year because of the positive budget balance.
