Total number of cards in the normal deck is 52

Number of spades in the normal deck = 13

Probability of drawing a spade(first card) = 13/52 = 1/4

Probability of not drawing a spade(first card) = 1 - 1/4 = 3/4

Since the first card is not replaced,

number of cards left = 52 - 1 = 51

number of spades left = 13

Probability of drawing a spade(second card) = 13/51

Since the second card is not replaced,

total number of cards left = 51 - 1 = 50

number of spades left = 13 - 1 = 12

Probability that the third card is a spade = 12/50 = 6/25

Thus, the probability that the first card is not a spade, the second card is a spade, and the third card is also a spade = 3/4 x 13/51 x 6/25 = 0.046

Becca solved the division problem 1.8 ÷ 0.3. Her work is shown below. Long division problem showing one and eight-tenths divided
just olya [345]

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

The complete options to choose from in order to explain her mistake are not shown, therefore I'll solve the problem generally.

To solve 1.8/0.3 easily we multiply but numerator and denominator by 10

(1.8*10)/(0.3*10) = 18/3 = 6

Describe the translation of Y= 2|3x|
Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

compressed it by 3 in the x direction

it stretched it by 2 in the y direction

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = |x|

then it became

g(x) = |3x|  so it compressed it by 3 in the x direction

h(x) = 2 |3x|  so it stretched it by 2 in the y direction

Triangle X Y Z is shown. The length of X Y is 9, the length of Y Z is 19, and the length of X Z is y. Angle X Y Z is 41 degrees.
nalin [4]

Answer:

y² = 9² + 19² - 2(9)(19)Cos (41°)

Step-by-step explanation:

Triangle X Y Z is shown.

The length of X Y is 9,

the length of Y Z is 19, and the length of X Z is y. Angle X Y Z is 41 degrees.

Law of cosines is given as:a²= b² + c² – 2bccos(A)

Applying this to Triangle XYZ, and since we are Solving for y

y² = x² + z² - 2xzCos Y

The length of X Y = x is 9,

the length of Y Z = y is 19

y²= 9² + 19² - 2(9 × 19)Cos (41°)

= y² = 9² + 19² - 2(9)(19)Cos (41°)

Option d is correct
