I. Daska is situated at a distance of 15 miles from both Gujranwala and Sialkot. A bus travels from Gujranwala to Daska at an av

erage speed of 25 miles per hour, from Daska to Sialkot at an average speed of 40 miles per hour and returns to Daska at an average speed of 30 miles per hour. Find the average speed for the entire trip.

Answer:

The average speed of the entire trip is 8.5 miles per hour.

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed = Total  Distance / Total Time

So we have to find the total distance and the total time taken .

1) From Gujranwala to Daska

speed= 25miles/hour           distance = 15miles

Time taken = distance / speed

                   = 15/25= 0.6 hours

2)  From Daska to Sialkot

speed= 40miles/hour           distance = 15miles

Time taken = distance / speed

                   = 40/15= 2.67 hours

3 ) From  Sialkot to Daska

speed= 30miles/hour           distance = 15miles

Time taken = distance / speed

                   = 30/15= 2 hours

The total distance traveled to three places is = 15+ 15+15= 45miles

The Total time taken is = 0.6+ 2.67+ 2= 5.267=5.3 hours

Speed = Total  Distance / Total Time

Speed= 45/ 5.3

          = 8.49=8.5 miles per hour

The average speed of the entire trip is 8.5 miles per hour.

Vlad [161]

BRAINLIEST ANSWER PLEASE

Answer:

Jim- Ocean

Darrell- Lake

Janet- Mountains

Stephanie- Desert

Step-by-step explanation:

If you read throughly Jim loves to surf the only place to surf is in the ocean because most lakes you cant surf.

Darrell live by a lake because it said there was water near him and Jim loves to surf EACH MORNING which clearly would mean he lives near an ocean so Darrell would live by a lake

Stephanie lives in the desert because she don't like the mountains

Janet live in the mountains because its the last option

What is the general equation of a sine function with an amplitude of 6, a period of... and a horizontal shift of...?
charle [14.2K]

Step-by-step explanation:

I think I'm a little too late to answer this question, but I'm still going to give you a basic sin function to show you where to find these things :)

f(x)=a sin (px)+s

I put the variables corresponding to their appropriate word.

(a=amplitude, p=period, s=shift)

You can find the amplitude <u>in front</u> of the sin (or cos, tan, cot, etc). The amplitude is always the first number presented in a trig function.

You find the period by taking the number paired with the x and dividing 2π by it. ( \frac{2\pi }{p} ) In this case, you're looking for a period of \frac{\pi }{4} which means that you would be dividing the 2π by 8 (\frac{2\pi }{8} =\frac{\pi }{4} )

The shift is always added at the <u>end</u> of the function.

- For vertical shifts, the shift is added separately as it's own individual value. (A good example would be the last option in your sc; y=6sin(8x)+\frac{\pi }{2}).

- For horizontal shift, the shift is joined with the x in the parentheses. If you want to think about it this way, the horizontal axis is the x-axis. Therefore, it makes sense that if it's a horizontal shift, the shift will be with the x.

Using all this information, we can determine that the answer has to have a 6 in front of it, an 8 multiplied with the x, and a \frac{\pi }{2} in parentheses with the x.

Your final answer should be the 3rd option, y=6sin(8(x-\frac{\pi }{2} ))

Answer:

y=6sin(8(x-\frac{\pi }{2} ))
