The other number is 1.25 .

proved to us , the first number is 5 .

let the other number is 'x' .

therefore we are having ,

the product of these numbers = 5x

the sum of these numbers = 5 + x

Also , the product of these two numbers is equal to the sum of these two numbers

so ,  5x = 5 +x

       4x = 5

        x = 5/4 = 1.25

so the second number is 1.25

verification :

product of the numbers = 5 x 1.25 = 6.25

sum of the numbers = 5 + 1.25 = 6.25

Hence the result is correct

Therefore the other number is 1.25.

Answer and Step-by-step explanation:

In the equation y = 25x + 100, the format of y = mx + b is being used. This is a very commonly used base for equations in math, especially when it comes to graphing.

In the equation, the m stands for the slope in the equation, and the b stands for the y intercept. Slope can also be found by taking the rise/run of a graph.

So, the slope of this line is 25, and the y-intercept 100.

I have also included the this equation on a graph as well.

I hope that this helps.

Jenna and Heidi together have $60. Jenna has $9 more than twice Heidi’s amount. How much money does each have?
Marina86 [1]

Jenna has $43 and Heidi has $17.

Step-by-step explanation:

Total amount = $60

Let,

Amount of Jenna = x

Amount of Heidi = y

According to given statement;

x+y=60   Eqn 1

x=2y+9   Eqn 2

Putting value of Eqn 2 in Eqn 1;

(2y+9)+y=60\\2y+9+y=60\\3y=60-9\\3y=51

Dividing both sides by 3,

\frac{3y}{3}=\frac{51}{3}\\y=17\\

Putting y=17 in Eqn 2

x=2(17)+9\\x=34+9\\x=43

Jenna has $43 and Heidi has $17.
