Wilson’s first argument is that people should be careful what they say.

James Q. Wilson in his book ‘Moral Sense’ presents an anthropological/sociological account as well as the role of moral consciousness and judgement in human experience. Wilson elaborated on four facets of the moral sense: sympathy, fairness, self-control, and duty. He furthermore promoted the idea that an individual sense of right and wrong stems from a biological and behavioral origin. In short, the basic theme within the book is that there exists a universal moral sense among humans. The first argument that he used was that “We must be careful of what we think (say) we are, because we may become that”.

Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]

Answer:

A) 2.02 standard deviations from 600 - a win

B) The last interval was a close call.

Explanation:

n = 2300

p = 0.47,      q = 1-p = 0.53

μ = np = 1081

σ = √(npq) =  23.94

Z.025 = 1.96

B) Finding both confidence interval:

Confidence Interval = (μ-1.96(23.94)/√2300, μ+1.96(23.94)/√2300)

 = (1081 - 0.978, 1081 + 0.978)

= (1080.022, 1081.978)

(1080-600)/23.94 = 2.02 standard deviations from 600 - a win

B)

AS above

n=450, p=.54, q=.46

μ=np=243, σ=√(npq)=10.6

confidence interval (243-1.96(10.6)/√450 , 243+1.96(10.6)/√450)

= 243-.98, 243+.98) = (242.0, 243.98)

(244-225)/10.6=1.8 standard deviations from win

Mumz [18]

Answer:

Ryan's question was directed toward the relationship level of meaning.

Explanation:

Relationship level of meaning refers to a different way a message could be interpreted depending on the social relationship that exist between the communicator and the receiver.

From the example above, Ryan and Kari are friends (this is their social relationship)

When Ryan asked "what's wrong?" IT conveys a deeper message to Kari since they both know each other's personality. Based on on their relation, Ryan could determine that Kari is in a trouble simply by looking at her abnormal behavior.. Kari will interpret that question differently if they're not friends.
