As for the first, every polis had its own culture. For example, Athens were focused on democracy and culture, while Sparta was all about war and competition. It was the most common form of government at the time. how the oligarchy was selcted was different from polis to polis. For example, Athens used to held election - altough those were reserved to the male, medium and high classes people.
The coalition forces that fought on the side of Kuwait consisted of Kuwait forces, the United States forces, the United Kingdom forces, the French forces, and the army of Saudi Arabia. It was odd to have this coalition for many people because of the support of Saudi Arabia, as well as the support that Europeans gave to the Kuwait forces.
