If a cell is no longer able to differentiate into any type of tissue, it has become a differentiated cell.

A stem cell can differentiate into a different kind through cellular differentiation. Usually, the cell will transform into a new, more specialized type. As a multicellular organism develops from a simple zygote to a complex system of tissues and cell types, it passes through multiple differentiation cycles. Adult stem cells continue to grow when they divide into fully differentiated daughter cells during tissue repair and regular cell turnover. Immune reactions to an antigen lead to differentiation. A cell's size, shape, membrane potential, metabolic activity, and signal receptivity all vary dramatically during differentiation.

What is it important that carbon is recycled?
marshall27 [118]
It's not so important that it be recycled ... after all, there's almost a limitless supply,
and there's no danger of ever running out of it.

What's important is to keep carbon out of the atmosphere. In order to do that, we
need to reduce the amount of it that's released during so many of the processes
that we've been doing on a huge scale for the past 200 years, and invent ways
to capture the carbon that we DO continue to release, before it gets into the
atmosphere.

Normally, activity of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis is regulated by a feedback loop that reduces the release of cortis
Sergeu [11.5K]
The correct answer is c. hypothalamus to pituitary gland to adrenal glands.

When it comes to stress, hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis (HPA) is responsible for stress response. Hypothalamus releases corticotropin-releasing hormone (CRH) which binds to its receptors on the anterior pituitary gland. As a result, adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) is released and it stimulates the release of cortisol from the adrenal gland. At a certain levels of cortisol, this steroid hormone exerts negative feedback to the hypothalamic release of CRH.
