The required equation of slope is y = x/2 + 6

Given : y = 3x + 6

this is of the form y = mx + c

thus on comparing we get

the slope or m = 3

And the y intercept = 0, 6

It is also given that we have to find the equation of the slope which passes through the point ( -2, 5 )

thus the two points are:

( -2, 5 )  and ( 0,6 )

Thus the slope or m = y2 - y1/ x2 - x1

=> m = 6 - 5 / - ( -2 )

m = 1/ 2

Thus the equation of the slope is

y - y₁ = m ( x - x₁ )

₁Substituting the value of m from above we get

y - 5 = 1/2 ( x + 2 )

this implies 2y - 10 = x + 2

x - 2y = - 12

or we can also write this as

y = x/2 + 6

Refer to the graph given below for further understanding.

If you can help it would mean a lot
irina [24]

Answer:

z=66

Step-by-step explanation:

Since VX is a mid-segment of UWY:

\frac{z - 33}{z}  =  \frac{1}{2}

z = 2z - 66 \\  - z =  - 66 \\ z = 66

explain the two different answers you can get when solving an equation and the variable is dropped out.
Alexandra [31]
To give a simple answer

if you consider the equation to be that of a line.
then if the variables cancel out, then the two lines will have the same slope.

two lines with the same slope fall under two categories. Parallel lines, and lines on top of each other

parallel lines have no solutions since the lines never cross each other
lines on top of each other have infinitely many solutions  since they "cross" everywhere on the line

If Paige walks 5 miles in 60 minutes, then Paige will walk how far in 100 minutes if she walks at the same speed the whole time?
jeka94

Answer:

Paige would walk 8.33 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

Paige is walking at a rate of 1 mile per 12 minutes. At this rate, Paige would walk 8.33 miles in 100 minutes.
