Extreme stress condition is a predisposing factor for respiratory alkalosis.

Respiratory alkalosis is the disruption of body's acid base balance due to high carbon dioxide levels in the body. It is a more common condition in people with rapid and uncontrolled breathing. The symptoms of the disorder include dizziness, bloating, confusion, dry mouth, etc.  The pH of the body is generally above 7.45 during respiratory alkalosis.

Stress is the psychological condition where a person takes excessive tension. It can lead to other conditions like anger, nervousness, irritation, etc. Stress can generally cause shortness of breath in  a person, eventually leading to respiratory alkalosis.
