The height of the sunflower after 8 weeks will be 23 inch and after w weeks it will be (15+w) inches tall .

In the question ,

it is given that

when the sunflower was planted

the height was 15 inches .

and the flower grows by 1 inch every week ,

So , in 8 weeks the flower will grow = 8*1 = 8 inches

and in w weeks the flower will grow = w inches

So, the height of the flower plant after 8 week = 15 + 8 = 23 inches

and the height of the flower plant after w weeks is = (15+w) inches

Therefore, The height of the sunflower after 8 weeks will be 23 inch and after w weeks it will be (15+w) inches tall .

The given question is incomplete , the complete question is

At the beginning of spring, Eva planted a small sunflower in her backyard. When it was first planted, the sunflower was 15 inches tall. The sunflower then began to grow at a rate of 1 inch per week. How tall would the sunflower be after 8 weeks? How tall would the sunflower be after w weeks?

NEED HELP! ASAP! 50 POINTS!
Lerok [7]

Answer:

y=13\text{ miles per gallon}

Step-by-step explanation:

We have the two points: (0, 11) and (3, 50).

And we want to find the rate of change in y relative to x, where x is the gallons and y is the miles.

In simple terms, we want to find the slope between the two points.

So, let's use the slope formula:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Let (0, 11) be (x₁, y₁) and let (3, 50) be (x₂, y₂). Substitute. Let's also put "miles" in the numerator with the Ys and "gallons" in the denominator with the Xs. This yields:

y=\frac{50-11\text{ miles}}{3-0\text{ gallons}}

Subtract and reduce:

y=39\text{ miles}/3\text{ gallons}=13\text{ miles per gallon}

And we're done!

If pens cost 9 cents each, what equation could be written to calculate the cost, c, of any number of pens, p?
Nadya [2.5K]

Answer:

The total cost (in dollars) of p pens is C = 0.09 p

Step-by-step explanation:

The cost of each pen = 9 cents

Now, 1 cent  = $0.01 cents

⇒ 9 cents  = $0.09

So, the cost of  1 pen = $0.09

The number of pens purchased= p

Let the total cost of p pens = c

Also, the cost of p pens = p x ( Cost of 1 pen)  = p ( $0.09)  = 0.09 p

or, C = 0.09 p

Hence the total cost (in dollars) of p pens is C = 0.09 p.
