English

Otters make happy sounds when they are happy. They may chirp, purr, squeal or make gurg-ling sounds when they're hav-ing a good time. Popular otter ga-mes include sliding down, wrest-ling, tumb-ling and chasing one an-other on land and in the water.

Young otters are more like-ly to chirp constant-ly and play than adult otters. They also show affect-ion to their off-spring through non verbal communi-cation. This includes touch-ing, play-ing, and their body posture. It is bel-ieved that the way a mother sta-nds can indicate to her pup if she is hap-py with him or if she is trying to disci-pline him.
