Simplify the expression

\begin{gathered} \frac{(3^2+4^2)}{(2+3)}=\frac{9+16}{5} \\ =\frac{25}{5} \\ =5 \end{gathered}

Please help! Please explain how to do this, I am so lost.
alexdok [17]
Ok, so we know that RST is equal to 6x+12
And RST is also equal to 78 + 3x-12
so we set them equal to each other

6x + 12 = 3x - 12 + 78
And simplify
3x = 54
x = 18

Finally, we solve for the angle with 18 for x

6(18) + 12
108 + 12
120

Hope this helps

Calculate the average rate of change of the function f(x) = 3x2 over the interval 1 ≤ x ≤ 5.
RideAnS [48]

Answer:

18

Step-by-step explanation:

The average rate of change of f(x) in the closed interval [ a, b ] is

\frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

here [ a, b ] = [ 1, 5 ]

f(b) = f(5) = 3 × 5² = 75

f(a) = f(1) = 3 × 1² = 3, hence

average rate of change = \frac{75-3}{5-1} = \frac{72}{4} = 18

What is the equation that passes through the points (5,2) and has a slope of 3
charle [14.2K]

Answer:

y=3x-13

Step-by-step explanation:

First, write your equation: y=3x+b. Plug in your ordered pair to the equation, it should look like this: 2=3(5)+b. 3 times 5 equals 15. This is what your equation should look like: 2=15+b. Subtract 15 from both sides to get -13 as your y-intercept. Go back to your original equation and plug in -13 to b. This is your final equation: y=3x-13. Hope this helped!

What is the value of x in the equation 2x+3y=36 wheh y=6
vova2212 [387]
X is 9
2x + 3y = 36 \\ 2x + 3(6) = 36 \\ 2x + 18 = 36 \\ 2x = 36 - 18 = 18
x =  \frac{18}{2}  = 9

Let f(x) = (x − 3)−2. find all values of c in (1, 4) such that f(4) − f(1) = f '(c)(4 − 1). (enter your answers as a comma-separ
Verizon [17]

If the function is (x-3)^{-2} and  f(4) − f(1) = f '(c)(4 − 1) then there is not any answer.

Given function is (x-3)^{-2} and  f(4) − f(1) = f '(c)(4 − 1).

In this question we have to apply the mean value theorem, which says that given a secant line between points A and B, there is at least a point C that belongs to the curve and the derivative of that curve exists.

We begin by calculating f(2) and f(5):

f(2)=(2-3)^{-2}

f(2)=1

f(5)=(5-3)^{-2}

f(5)=1

And the slope of the function:

f^{1}(x)=f(5)-f(2)/(5-2)

f^{1}(c)=0

Now,

f^{1} (x)=-2*(x-3)^{-3}

=-2(x-3)^{-3}

=0

-2 is not equal to 0. So there is not any answer.

Hence if the function is (x-3)^{-2} and  f(4) − f(1) = f '(c)(4 − 1) then there is not any answer.
