There is a machine with toys in it that each cost between cents and dollars, with each toy being cents more expensive than the n

ext most expensive one. Each time Sam presses the big red button on the machine, the machine randomly selects one of the remaining toys and gives Sam the option to buy it. If Sam has enough money, he will buy the toy, the red button will light up again, and he can repeat the process. If Sam has quarters and a ten dollar bill and the machine only accepts quarters, what is the probability that Sam has to get change for the dollar bill before he can buy his favorite toy- the one that costs

The required probability that sam has to get change for the 10-dollar bill before he can buy his favorite toy is 6/7.

What is probability?

The fraction of favorable outcomes to the total number of outcomes of an event is said to be its probability of occurrence.

P(N) = n(N)/n(S)

N- an event; S- total outcomes;

Calculation:

It is given that,

n(s) = 8

So, the probability of buying the favorite toy first is 1/8

and the probability of buying the favorite toy a second is (1/8)(1/7) = 1/56

For these probabilities, Sam won't need to change the 10-dollar bill.

Then,

The probability that Sam has to get change for the 10-dollar bill before he can buy his favorite toy is

= 1 - Probability that he won't need to change

= 1 - (1/8 + 1/56)

= 1 - 1/7

= 6/7

Question: There is a machine with 8 toys in it that each costs between 25 cents and 2 dollars, with each toy being 25 cents more expensive than the next most expensive one. Each time Sam presses the big red button on the machine, the machine randomly selects one of the remaining toys and gives Sam the option to buy it. If Sam has enough money, he will buy the toy, the red button will light up again, and he can repeat the process. If Sam has 8 quarters and a ten-dollar bill and the machine only accepts quarters, what is the probability that Sam has to get change for the 10-dollar bill before he can buy his favorite toy- the one that costs $1.75? Express your answer as a common fraction.

Find the measure of angle 1
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

Angle 1, 2, 4 = 45 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

2x+15 = x+30

-15 both sides

2x = x+15

-x both sides

x = 15

Plug x = 15 into x+30 or 2x+15

15+30 = 45

2(15)+15 = 45

A student says that a correlation coefficient of −0.93 indicates that the two quantities of a data set have a weak correlation.
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Recall that correlation coefficients range from -1 to +1. So, -0.93 is a strong negative relationship. Two interpretations: 1) the correlation is actually very strong, and 2) the correlation is negative. When the correlation is negative, the dependent variable DECREASES when the independent variable INCREASES.

Person 1 writes internal operating procedures 3 times faster than Person 2. Most of the procedures took 30 minutes each to creat
ad-work [718]

Person 1 takes 3 hour 10 minutes to complete 9 procedures

Solution:

From given question,

Person 2 takes 30 minutes per procedure

Person 1 writes internal operating procedures 3 times faster than Person 2

So we get, Person 1 takes 3 times faster than Person 2

Person 1 takes 10 minutes per procedure

But two of the procedures for Person 1 took an hour each

So person 1 takes 60 minutes each for two of procedures ( since 1 hour = 60 minutes )

Calculate how long it took Person 1 to complete 9 procedures:

So for first 7 procedures person 1 would take 10 minutes per procedure and for last two procedures person 1 would take 60 minutes per procedure

time $=7$ procedures $\times \frac{10 \text { minutes }}{1 \text { procedure }}+2$ procedure $\times \frac{60 \text { minutes }}{1 \text { procedure }}$

time=70 minutes +120minutes\\\\time=190minutes

We know that,

1 hour = 60 minutes

Therefore,

190 minutes = 60 minutes + 60 minutes + 60 minutes + 10 minutes

190 minutes = 1 hour + 1 hour + 1 hour + 10 minutes = 3 hour 10 minutes

Therefore Person 1 takes 3 hour 10 minutes to complete 9 procedures

Rajan needs 1 liter of 15% hydrochloric acid solution for an experiment. He checks his storage cabinet, but he only has a 5-lite
Delvig [45]

Answer:

 1. 0.75 liters of 5% hydrochloric acid solution
 2. 0.25 liters of 45% hydrochloric acid solution.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that, x liters of the 5% hydrochloric acid and y liters of the 45% hydrochloric acid solutions are combined.

As Rajan need total of 1 liter of solution, so

x+y=1

i.e x=1-y --------------------1

As Rajan needs 5% hydrochloric acid and 45% hydrochloric acid to make a 1 liter batch of 15% hydrochloric acid, hence acid content of the mixture of two acids will be same as of the final one, so

0.05x+0.45y=1\times 0.15

i.e 5x+45y=15 -------------2

Putting value of x from equation 1 in equation 2,

\Rightarrow 5(1-y)+45y=15

\Rightarrow 5-5y+45y=15

\Rightarrow 5+40y=15

\Rightarrow 40y=15-5=10

\Rightarrow y=0.25

Putting the value of y in equation 1,

x=1-0.25=0.75

Therefore, Rajan must use 0.75 liters of 5% hydrochloric acid solution and 0.25 liters of 45% hydrochloric acid solution.
