"Echo by her talk contrived to detain the goddess till the nymphs made their escape. When Juno [Hera] discovered it, she passed
noname [10]

Answer:

A.  thought that silence is golden.

Explanation:

In this passage from Story of Echo and Narcissus, Echo faces the sentence of not being able to speak because of her constant talking and saying last word in conversations. The goddess Juno did not over talkative habit of Echo. Since it is a Greek myth, and myths represent the concerned culture's values, we can infer from this that Ancient Greek thought that silence is golden.

In Greek myth "Echo and Narcissus" is a tragic story of Echo and Narcissus. It is also found in Ovid's book of poetry (Metamorphoses). Echo is a nymph which annoys Juno (Hera) by detaining her by her talk when she (Juno) was searching for her husband who was amusing himself with the nymphs. When Juno discovers this, she passes sentence upon Echo that she will not be able to talk/speak, but she will only be able to utter last word of someone else's speech. The story next describes about Narcissus's indifference to Echo only because of her inability to speak. And later Narcissus too (unknowingly) falls in love of his own reflection in the story. The bodies of both Echo and Narcissus dissolve because of not finding the love from their beloved ones.

The options B and C are not relevant to this passage, nor to this story. Option D is totally incorrect because they did believe in their myths.

What is most likely in the envelope?
Elena L [17]

Answer:

an invitation to a special event

Explanation:

Out of all the options given, the one which is most likely in the envelope is an invitation to a special event.

A special event consists of public events, private events, sporting events, fairs & festivals among others. They are categorized as ‘special’ events most times because they are outside of the host’s normal business activities or programs.

That’s doesn't mean they don’t still have business objectives, while some special events are purely celebratory, many others are held for business purpose such as marketing, sales, advertising, promotion, e.t.c.

Special events are mostly hospitality or entertainment-based, though not all and are mostly of a social, rather than business, nature, with the exception to few others.

BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

He is eager to relay the details of the incident with as much accuracy as possible.

Explanation:

"Trifle" is the play about the investigation of the murder of John Wright.

When County Attorney, Sheriff, Mr. Hale enters Wright's house to investigate the murder mystery of John Wright, Mr. Hale narrates his visit to their house the previous night.

<u>Mr. Hale recounts his visit in a very precise manner by accurately pointing out the location of his standing at the door and the position of Mrs. Wright, who was sitting on the rocker. He did so because he want to give the details with accuracy. Another reason for this accuracy is because they are there to investigate a murder case so much accuracy and precision is required. </u>

This reveals that Hale was eager to give details with much accuracy and precision.
