The poem below was written in the early 1900s: Her voice was like the sound of blended flutes Blown by black players upon a picn

ic day. She sang and danced on gracefully and calm, The light gauze hanging loose about her form; To me she seemed a proudly-swaying palm Grown lovelier for passing through a storm. Upon her swarthy neck black, shiny curls Profusely fell; and, tossing coins in praise, The wine-flushed, bold-eyed boys, and even the girls, Devoured her with their eager, passionate gaze; But, looking at her falsely-smiling face I knew her self was not in that strange place. What was it like fighting in ww2
Elena-2011 [213]

Answer:

What was life like for soldiers in World War II? It would really depend on what theater they were in. They were either cold and miserable, or hot and miserable. Out in the field they slept wherever they could, holes in the ground, damaged buildings, or anywhere they might be “safe” from enemy fire.

Explanation:

World War II, also called Second World War, conflict that involved virtually every part of the world during the years 1939–45. The principal belligerents were the Axis powers — Germany, Italy, and Japan —and the Allies— France, Great Britain, the United States, the Soviet Union, and, to a lesser extent, China.

What check or control does the supreme court have on congress
Andrej [43]

Congress is checked by the Supreme Court through the power of judicial review.

Judicial review is a power that the Supreme Court possesses thanks to the Marbury vs. Madison case. Judicial review allows the Supreme Court to rule on whether laws made by Congress are constitutional or unconstitutional. Any law passed by Congress that the Supreme Court thinks violates the US Constitution immediately becomes void. This ensures that the Supreme Court can get rid of any law made by Congress that may violate a citizens rights.
