If he buys x pens and y pencils

3x + y = 10
x ≤ y

You draw the line 3x + y = 10 .(it passes by (0,10) and (-10/3,0)

You Draw the line y=x [it passes by (0,0), (1,1), (2,2)]

Solution: is the points with integer x and y, that belong to the segment of the line 3x +y = 10 between the x-axis and the line y=x. Those points are (1,7) , (2,4), (3, 1).

Hope this helps ^-^

Hello!

We 1st off, know that number of pencils = x

and that the number of pens = y

So now the Solving!:

3x + y = 10
x ≤ y

Draw the line 3x + y = 10 .[it passes by (0,10) and (-10/3,0)

Draw the line y=x [it passes by (0,0), (1,1), (2,2) etc]

Then the solution is the points with integer x and y, that belong to the segment of the line 3x +y = 10 between the x-axis and the line y=x. Those points are (1,7) , (2,4), (3, 1).

Can you help me with math?
GaryK [48]

Answer:

n = 143

Step-by-step explanation:

To find the value of n, you multiply 13 by 10 because that is the inverse of dividing, and you get 130. Since there is a greater than sign, the answer is 143 because the value of n has to be greater than 130.
