You are the coach of a basketball team. So far this season, you have collected the following statistics showing how many points

each player scores on average and how many points the team scores in a game when the player is not playing: Player A PPG: 25 Team Points when the player is absent: 100 Player B PPG: 24 Team Points when the player is absent: 80 Player c PPG: 20 Team Points when the player is absent: 84 Player D PPG: 19 Team Points when the player is absent: 87 Player E PPG: 13 Team Points when the player is absent: 50 Player F PPG: 5 Team Points when the player is absent: 99 Player G PPG: 5 Team Points when the player is absent: 90 Discussion Question: (1) Which player is the most helpful to your team? Why? (20 pts) (2) Which player is the most altruistic (helpful to others)? Why? (20 pts) (3) Rank order the value of the players on your team? (20 pts) (4) In complete sentences, explain how you derived your ranking. (40 pts)

(1) The player that is most helpful to the team is player D because when they are not there the team doesn't do that well but they would still be doing well but not as well as when they are there. Player D is also valuable because when they are there they score around 19 points per game which is a high number for gaining points. When all the player averages are added the team scores a average of 111 points a game and when player D isn't there they score just 87 points which is a average of 24 points lost every game that player D is not there.

(2) I think that player E is the most useful player because when they aren't there the team only scores 50 points out of the averaged 111 points per game which means that when player E is not there the team loses 61 points which is 54.95% of the teams score lost.

(3) I would rank the players B, D, E, C, G, A, F (Most valuable to least valuable)

(4) I put player B first because they score 24 points a game on average and when they are not there they only score 80 points of the averaged 111 points when everybody is there. I then put player D because they score 19 points per game on average which out of the teams scores on average puts them fourth but when they are not there the team only gets 87 points. After player D I put player E because when player E is not there the team loses 54.95% of their points. Then I decided to put player C because they score the third highest amount of points and when player C is not there they only score 84 points which is 75.68% of what they score if everybody is there. After player C comes player G and I put player G in the 5th most valuable players spot because I think that player G is more of a team player then a player to score, I say that because although player G's average score is only 5 points when they are not there the team scores 90 points which is 21 points less then if everybody is there. I then put player A I put player A close to the end of the list because although they score 25 points on average the team scores 100 points when they are not there which is a mere 11 points that player A is adding to the team. Then lastly I would put player F because they only score on average 5 points per game and when player F is not there the team scores 99 points so they are actually only adding 12 points of value to the team.

You are given the following statistics showing how many points each player scores on average and how many points the team scores in a game when the player is not playing.

Player A PPG: 25 Team Points
when the player is absent: 100
Player B PPG: 24 Team Points
when the player is absent: 80
Player C PPG: 20 Team Points
when the player is absent: 84
Player D PPG: 19 Team Points
when the player is absent: 87
Player E PPG: 13 Team Points
when the player is absent: 50
Player F PPG: 5 Team Points
when the player is absent: 99
Player G PPG: 5 Team Points
when the player is absent: 90

(1) The player that is most helpful to the team is Player A. When player A is playing,he can garner 25 points and when he is not around, the team loses 100 points.
(2) The player that is the most altruistic (helpful to others) is Player E. Even if he can just gain 13 points when playing, when he is not around, their lost is just 50 points.
(3) The order from increasing to the least is player A, B, D, C, E, G, F.

The sample space listing the eight simple events that are possible when a couple has three children is {bbb, bbg, bgb, bgg, gbb,
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

bbbb,

bbbg, bbgb, bgbb, gbbb,

bbgg, bgbg, bggb, gbgb, gbbg, ggbb,

bggg, gbgg, ggbg, gggb,

gggg

Step-by-step explanation:

3 children: bbb, bbg, bgb, gbb, bgg, gbg, ggb, ggg

4 children: bbbb, bbbg, bbgb, bgbb, gbbb, bbgg, bgbg, bggb, gbgb, ggbb, bggg, gbgg, ggbg, gggb, gggg

You need to take a methodological approach;

The 2 easiest are the possibility of all boys and all girls;

Then consider 3 boys and 1 girl:

bbbg, bbgb, bgbb, gbbb

Then 2 boys and 2 girls:

bbgg, bgbg, bggb, gbgb, gbbg, ggbb

Lastly, 1 boy and 3 girls:

bggg, gbgg, ggbg, gggb

In total, there are 16 possibilities

P.S. interesting to note is that the number of possibilities here follows the pattern of Pascal's triangle:

       1

     1   1

   1  2  1

1  3  3  1

1  4  6  4  1

The last row is relevant here;

There is 1 possibility where there are 4 boys;

There are 4 possibilities (in terms of the order of birth) where there are 3 boys and 1 girl;

There are 6 possibilities where there are 2 boys and 2 girls

There are 4 possibilities where there is 1 boy and 3 girls;

There is 1 possibility where there are 4 girls;

The pattern ∴ is 1 4 6 4 1, as the 5th row of Pascal's triangle reads;

If your talking about 3 children, it would match the 4th row of Pascal's triangle;

So, 1 possibility of 3 boys;

3 possibilities of 2 boys and 1 girl;

3 possibilities of 1 boy and 2 girls;

And 1 possibility of 3 girls;

If your talking about 10 children, it would match the 11th row of Pascal's triangle.

Step-by-step explanation:

The problem statement tells you each observed count is 3 times the last one.

Expressed as an exponential function with an initial value of 50 and a growth factor of 3, the formula is ...

  y = (initial value)×(growth factor)^x
