Answer:

The answer is: amount of flour used for bread and brownies is same

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1:

Assume;

Flour used for cookies = x

Flour used for bread = z

Flour used for brownies = y

Flour used for cookies = a

Step 2:

Now, for bread as mentioned flour used for bread is one fourth less than flour used in cookies therefore;

z = x - (1/4)x

z = x-0.25x

z = 0.75x

Step 3:

Now, for cookies as mentioned flour used for cookies is one third more than flour used in brownies therefore;

x = (1/3)y + y

x = 0.33y + y

x = 1.33y

Step 5:

Value of z from step 2:

z = 0.75x

now put value of x from step 3 in above equation;

z= 0.75 (1.33y)

z = (1) y

hence proved;

z = y

Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

1.

Step-by-step explanation:

Note that 2^4 - 2^3 = 16 - 8 = 8 = 2^3

In a similar way 2^6 - 2^5 = 64 - 32 = 32 = 2^5.

So 2^99 - 2^98 = 2^98 ,  2^98 - 2^97 = 2^97 ,  2^97 - 2^96 = 2^96 and so on.

Therefore when we come to the last 2 terms we have 2^1 - 2^0 = 2 - 1

= 1 , so the answer is 1.

Find the values of x and y
zhuklara [117]

You can use a tangent:

tangent=\dfrac{opposite}{adjacent}

We have opposite = 17 and adjacent = x.

\tan30^o=\dfrac{\sqrt3}{3}

substitute:

\dfrac{17}{x}=\dfrac{\sqrt3}{3}       cross multiply

x\sqrt3=(3)(17)     multiply both sides by √3

x(\sqrt3)(\sqrt3)=51\sqrt3

3x=51\sqrt3      divide both sides by 3

x=17\sqrt3

Use the Pythagorean theorem:

y^2=(17\sqrt3)^2+17^2\\\\y^2=289(\sqrt3)^2+289\\\\y^2=289\cdot3+289\\\\y^2=867+289\\\\y^2=1156\to y=\sqrt{1156}\\\\y=34

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other method.

30^o-60^o-90^o triangle.

The sides are in the ratio 1:2:\sqrt3\to17:y:x

Therefore

17:(2\cdot17):(17\sqrt3)\to17:34:17\sqrt3\to x=34,\ y=17\sqrt3
