Subduction occurs at destructive plate boundaries. It is when a heavier/denser oceanic plate gets pushed down into the mantle by the less dense continental plate. The point where the oceanic plate subducts is called the subduction zone.
Well, subduction is a process where two boundaries move under each other there can be also known as "subduction zones" which is where most of the subduction happens. The boundaries can be called convergent boundaries.
Just remember that subduction is when two boundaries go under each other.
The earth's internal and external heat engines combine to transfer the heat through the convection, conduction the process of radiation t the crust, mantel, and the outer core and inner core of the earth is through the process of the seismic waves and these travel through the asthenosphere and the lithospheric plates.
The convergent plate boundary and the subduction zone of the earth drives the plates and the transform boundary, form where the magma rise and the earthquakes take place and the formation of the volcanoes, and the oceanic crust and the drift in the plate tectonics of the mid-ocean ridge is through the trenches.
