It would be the last graph.
The height of the leaf is falling at 0.25 per second, therefore it must reach 1 feet per 4 seconds, and since the intervals on this graph are by two, I would make it 2 feet per 8 seconds to make it easier. If we look on all of the graphs where 8 seconds is, we see on the last graph that it has fallen two feet in eight seconds.

The <u>correct answer</u> is:

The last graph.

Explanation:

The leaf starts at 12 feet above the ground.  This eliminates the <u>first and third</u> graph, leaving the second and last.

The leaf falls at 0.25 ft/sec.  This means it would take 4 seconds for the leaf to fall 1 foot.

On the <u>second graph</u>, when we go over to 4 seconds and then up, the line is at 10 feet; this means it fell 2 feet in 4 seconds.  This is <u>too fast</u>.

On the <u>last graph</u>, going over to 4 seconds and then up, the line is at 11 feet; this means it fell 1 foot in 4 seconds.  <u>This is correct</u>.

Jasmine has taken an online boating safety course and is now completing her end-of-course exam. As she answers each question, th
dsp73

Answer:

There are 60 total questions on the course exam.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Number of questions finished by Jasmine = 12

Percentage shown on the bar = 20%

The total number of questions will be 100%, therefore, 20% of the questions are equal to 12.

Let,

x be the total number of questions on the course exam

20% of x = 12

\frac{20}{100}x=12\\0.2x=12

Dividing both sides by 0.2

\frac{0.2x}{0.2}=\frac{12}{0.2}\\x=60

Hence,

There are 60 total questions on the course exam.

Solve the equation p^2 + 4p = 1 by completing the square.
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

p = -2 ±sqrt( 5)

Step-by-step explanation:

p^2 + 4p = 1

Take the coefficient of p

4

Divide by 2

4/2 =2

Square it

2^2 = 4

Add it to each side

p^2 + 4p+4 = 1+4

(p+2) ^2 = 5

Take the square root of each side

sqrt((p+2) ^2) =±sqrt( 5)

p+2 = ±sqrt( 5)

Subtract 2 from each side

p+2-2 = -2 ±sqrt( 5)

p = -2 ±sqrt( 5)

Ruben put an empty cup underneath a leaking faucet. After 1 1/2 hours, Ruben had collected 1/4 cup of water. What is the rate, i
worty [1.4K]

Answer:

The rate is \frac{1}{6} cups per hour

Step-by-step explanation:

It took the faucet 1 1/2 hours, i.e 1.5 or 3/2 hours to fill 1/4 cup by leaking

We need to find the rate in terms of cups that can be filled by water in 1 hour.

Using unitary method:

If it takes \frac{3}{2} h for \frac{1}{4} cup;

then it will take 1 h for how many cups?

= \frac{1 \times \frac{1}{4} }{\frac{3}{2} }

= \frac{2}{4 \times 3}

= \frac{2}{12}

= \frac{1}{6} cups

Therefore, the rate is \frac{1}{6} cups per hour

A lotion is made from an oil blend costing $1.50 per ounce and glycerin costing $1.00 per ounce. Four ounces of lotion costs $5.
vovikov84 [41]

Answer:

A=(4-g) 1.5

Step-by-step explanation:

Let g be the amount of glycerin in the lotion.  We know that there are 4 ounces total of lotion; this means that there are 4-g ounces of the oil blend.

The oil blend costs $1.50 per ounce; this gives us the expression (4-g)1.5 for the oil blend.
