While there may still be some things that Americans can work on it is important to remember one of the greatest achievements of the civil rights movement. The Civil Rights Act led to a great amount of change in the African American community. As a result of the Civil Rights Movement African Americans were given greater economic and social mobility and racial discrimination was banned across the nation.
