Answer:

Bennett was trapped for five (5) days.

Explanation:

The book 'Unwholly', is a Science fiction book written by Neal Shusterman. It tells of an American society which was just recovering from a war, and was then faced with the topic of abortion. The government made it legal that parents who had no more interest in keeping their teenagers could technically abort them, by having their parts harvested.

Nelson was an ex Juvey-cop who trapped unruly teenagers and harvested their organs. This was the situation Bennett found himself in. He had just been trapped for five days. He was given little to eat. When Nelson released him from the trap, he gave him the opportunity to escape. But before he could escape, Nelson tranquilized him.

He had gone searching in the first place because his supplier had been arrested and no one else was willing to give him any cigarettes. When he enters the abandoned warehouse he is lured in by the cigarettes on a mattress but falls into the pit. J. T. Nelson finds him five days later and sells him to a black marketeer even though he is not an unwind.
