Answer:

C.The two sides of human nature.

Explanation:

In this case the army helmet represents the "war", the violent part of humans, the urge to survive at all costs, on the other hand, the peace symbol represents the fraternity between human beings and the search for understanding among people. These aspects, although opposed, are in our human nature, they coexist and interact inside us molding history. Modern wars are the perfect example of this bilateral nature: we make war in order to be in peace, it's a paradox. Every day we are faced to situations in which this two faces take an important role.

Select the correct answer. What is a central idea in the passage?
FromTheMoon [43]

Answer:

A. The theremin is becoming a newly popular Instrument to play.

Explanation:

The above statement which is on the growing popularity of the instrument is the central idea in the passage. This is because, when the instrument was formed by the Russian physicist, its popularity grew small in the 1920's before it fades away. <em>Later in the 1990's, it was revived with so many composers creating good musics and symphonies using the instrument.</em>

#1, as a “drop” is just a small amount to the whole bucket in this metaphorical sentence. So it’s too small to make a difference because just $20 will not help much with running a entire magazine company/printing

HELP PLEASE ASAP I WILL DO ANYTHING JUST PLEASE HELP...Write an argumentative essay that critiques and responds to an article. U
masya89 [10]

Answer:

It has forever been a debate on whether or not students should continue doing the amount of homework they normally do, or if they should do less. Students worldwide are arguing that they are treated unfairly, that they should have a less amount of homework to do. Students already have to do a ton of schoolwork as it is, so why should they get the same amount of work for homework? According to a study by Stanford University and a story from Healthline and an interview from Priceton review, they all state, "students get increased anxiety because they get overwhelmed with the amount of schoolwork, essays and tests throughout the day and they have the same amount as homework" "More and more students are dropping out, skipping class and lowering there scores because they feel too overwhelmed with the amount of work they have to do everyday."

On the other hand, teachers think "it is not enough work". Teachers have said endlessly, "The more you know, the better." They believe that students should know as much as they can in order to succeed in life. But even parents argue that they don't get to spend as much time with their child because they are at school most of the day, and then they come home to do homework for the rest of the day. Students not only miss out on family time or a social life, but they get irregular sleep schedules and they have harder time focusing in class, because they are too tired from staying up all night doing homework.

So teachers say that knowledge is everyhting and that we need to learn as much as we can, but how can students do so if they are too tired to focus on what teachers are teaching? Students come in and sometimes even skip breakfast because they are too tired and even skip lunch and dinner! Students have no time for their family, no time for a social life and no time for themselves. It has even been reported that students become dehydrated and unfit because they will be working all day, that they forget to drink water or even exercise. So homework is causing so many health problems for these students, and they are getting no time for anything else in their life, and increase anxiety and even depression because they feel lonely and they don't what to fail, so they keep working. Students even get low self esteem because they don't even get to build one when they are busy 24/7. They don't get to go out and feel confident in themselves, when they are afraid of failing.

In conclusion, students are getting more homework than they should. When this happens, students get irregular sleep schedules, increased anxiety, and no time for themselves and loved ones. This causes health problems and lack of motivation to even have a social life. Students are neglecting to eat, and they are over working themselves by working 24/7.

Read the following passage from Edgar Allan Poe's "Annabel Lee":
Charra [1.4K]
The "unique or single effect" that Poe is attempting to express in this passage is B. SORROW.

It shows how she has waited for a long time to be loved by the person she has loved. That person is the "me" in the poem.

Many and many a year ago depicts a very long time of unrequited love or a one-sided love at stated by the text "no other thought than to love and be loved by me".

The author of black cat uses flashback to tell the story. How does this create suspense
Romashka [77]
<span>In the black cat, the image of the hanged cat that is left on the burnt building and the markings that look like a noose on the new cat are repetitive images of death and the murderous deed that the narrator committed. Like the endless beating of the victim's heart in "Tell Tale Heart," the constant reminder of the death of the cat through the images of nooses and cats with one eye remind the narrator of his evil deed. The narrator blames the cat (in his mind melding together the two cats into one evil cat) "whose craft has seduced me into murder."</span>
