Activation-synthesis theory of dream is related to our biochemical activation in the brain that why we see dreams in the night. When we sleep our brain is also active. A neurologist explains that some activity occurs at the lower level of the brain which is responsible for dream interpretation.

According to activation -the synthesis theory dream is interpreted in the physiological system of the brain. Most people think that our dream state and sleep state both are acting in a passive state. The brain is active during sleeping. A variety of neural activity took place during sleep. Thus activation and synthesis process also work in the interpretation of the dream in physiological brain system.
