Does this description remind you of anything you have seen on television, or in the movies? what is significant about winston's
ella [17]

There is a quote from Orwell about the two minutes hate in which everyone had to join in and had the desire to kill and be violent, this description reminds me of the movie and book "The Hunger Games" written by Suzanne Collins. Everyone seems to automatically join in but for Winston it is forced because he hates it immensely.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games is a series of young adult dystopian books authored by American novelist Suzanne Collins.

The first three novels are part of a trilogy featuring Katniss Everdeen as an adolescent, while the fourth is a prequel set 64 years before the original.

The novels in the trilogy are titled The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay. Each was adapted for cinema, forming The Hunger Games film series, with Mockingjay being broken into two feature-length motion films.

The first two volumes in the trilogy were both New York Times best sellers, and Mockingjay topped all US bestseller lists upon its release. By the time the film adaptation of The Hunger Games was released in 2012.
