What is the function of heart valves

Biology

Answer: The heart valves prevent blood from flowing backwards.

Explanation:

The openings between atria and ventricles are guarded by atrioventricular valves also called as AV valves. AV valve between right atrium and right ventricle has three flaps or cusps and is therefore called the tricuspid valve. The AV valve between the left atrium and left ventricle has two flaps or cusps and is therefore called bicuspid valve or mitral valve. During ventricular contraction these valves close to prevent the back flow of blood into the atria.

Three semilunar valves are found at the points where the pulmonary artery and aorta leave the heart. These valves prevent blood from flowing back into the ventricles.

3. Determine which would have fewer protein and DNA base
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

Chimpanzees

Explanation:

Chimpanzees are much more closely related to humans in an evolutionary sense that cows are. Chimpanzees and humans are both primates, characterized by features like advanced cognition, grasping hands and feet, and front facing eyes. In contrast, cows belong to a different of bovine animals.

Because we are evolutionary more related to chimpanzees, that means our DNA has undergone less change over evolutionary time. That means that the sequence will be more similar to chimps
