Basically, this bit is foreshadowing Daedalus' and Icarus' last moments together.
The point of the cartoon is to show how ignorant people can be about world problems. Many people decide to stick to their own mindset and are not open to other people’s advice and solutions.
I would say that I agree with the cartoon because many people find a way to ignore the problem. They decide to only focus on their own situations and forget about the most important ones that deal with the world.

Remember, theme is "TheMessage" in the story. Grab supporting details that could include "because, as, etc." That explain some specific action happening. Always look for the cause and effect in the stories. When you explain in detail, you write "and this supports the theme of the story because (your answer here). Remember to start your conclusions with "Therefore, So on and so forth, In conclusion, etc." Hope I helped! (:
The best time to determine voice & tone in writing is when you are in the beginning/middle of the passage/book/article because you will see what the author is going to talk about and then how he feels about it.
