Answer:

\fbox{\begin{minipage}{3em}x = 6\end{minipage}}

Step-by-step explanation:

<em><u>Given:</u></em>

Equation: 3x - 3 = 27 - 2x

<em><u>Solve for:</u></em>

x

<em><u>Solution:</u></em>

Step 1: Select relevant approach:

Let's move all the components containing x to the left side and other components to the right side (notice the change of sign of each one from + to - or - to +), then calculate x

Step 2: Perform the calculation:

      3x -3 = 27 - 2x

Moving components:

<=> 3x + 2x = 27 + 3

Adding up components:

<=> 5x = 30

Dividing both sides by 5 (coefficient of component containing x:

<=> \frac{5}{5} x = \frac{30}{5}

Simplifying to work out x:

<=>x = 6

Hope this helps!

Answer:

x = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

3x - 3= 27 - 2x

First we put all the x terms to on side, making it 3x + 2x - 3= 27.

Remeber that when we move a term to the other side of the equals sign (=), we change its sign to be the opposite of what it currently is.

Then, we move all the numberics to the other side, so we derieve 3x + 2x = 27 +3. Again, the sign changes when we move it across.

What is left to do is add up the quantities. So 3x + 2x = 5x and 27 +3 = 30.

We are left with 5x = 30. If 5 x's is 30, how much is one? Sinply divide it to get the answer of 30 / 5 which is six!

To make sure the answer is correct substituite 6 in the equation as x and see if its accurate: 3(6) -3 = 7 - 2 (6). And it is!

So x is equal to six.

Help with #9 pleaseeee
Molodets [167]

Answer:

9' - 1.29"

Step-by-step explanation:

Total rise = 5' - 2"

Total run = 7' - 6"

1' = 12" = 1 feet = 12 inches

5' = 5 * 12 = 60"

3' = 7 * 12 = 84"

Total rise = 60" + 72" = 62"

Total run = 84" + 6" = 90"

Length of stringer = hypotenus

Hypotenus = √(total rise² + total run²)

Hypotenus = √(62² + 90²)

Hypotenus = 109.28860"

Convwrting back to feet and inches

= 9' - 1.29"

Whats the slope of the table? i've been struggling with this one.
Ber [7]
To find slope you can do Y2-Y1/X2-X1 Which will get you rise over run which is slope so I would choose the two whole number points and do those! I hope this is right lol! and i hope it helped!

(a) 26 is what percent of 40? 65% (b) 85% of 80 is what number?
Marizza181 [45]
A) 65%
b) 68

26:40 as x:100
26/40 = x/100
Cross multiply
2600 = 40x
x = 65
———————
85% of 80
0.85 is the decimal equivalent of 85%
80 x 0.85 = 68

The values of x and y vary directly
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

y = (1/4)x

Step-by-step explanation:

"Direct variation" here signifies y = kx, where k is the constant of proportionality.

Then y = kx.  Here we are to find k using the info that x = 12 and y = 3:

3 = k(12), or

k = 3/12, or k = 1/4

Then y = (1/4)x

In a circle, a 90-degree sector has area 196 pi in^2. What is the radius of the circle?
o-na [289]

Answer:

The radius of the circle is 28\ in

Step-by-step explanation:

we  know that

In a circle, a 90-degree sector represents a quarter of the circle area.

The area of a quarter circle is equal to

A=\frac{1}{4}\pi r^{2}

we have

A=196\pi\ in^{2} ----> area of a quarter circle

so

196\pi=\frac{1}{4}\pi r^{2}

Simplify

r^{2}=196*4

r=28\ in
